A city of Eau Claire Community Service Project
Sew Complete and the Indianhead Chapter of the American Sewing Guild are partnering to help create blankets for this project. Between now and September, we will be collecting new sewn blankets that EMS services can give to children who need to be transported by ambulance, and the American Red Cross of Chippewa Valley, Hope Gospel Mission (Ruth House and Men's Shelter), Salvation Army of Chippewa Valley, Catholic Charities--St. Lawrence Community Services and Western Dairyland Community Action agency can distribute to families in need.
We will have a few workshops for those who would like to work together creating blankets. The first one was held on Tuesday, February 10th, at 1 p.m. Watch here for future workshop dates. We continued with a workshop in April, putting together smaller pieces to make various size blankets. The next "blanket day" will be held on Monday, June 16, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. We will work on making fleece blankets, again, this time with smaller pieces of fleece and will incorporate some of our special stitches into the seams.
